Ondanks de overname door publisher Ubisoft zal er bij Trials HD-ontwikkelaar RedLynx niet veel veranderen, aldus medeoprichter en creative director Antti Ilvessuo. De enige verandering zal zitten in het feit dat de studio nu meer tijd zal krijgen om zich te storten op het maken van geweldige games.

In een interview met Edge deed Ilvessuo een boekje open over zijn bedrijf en liet weten dat ze helemaal niet zo close waren met de indie-tag die ze opgedrukt kregen en dat ze erg blij zijn met een partner als Ubisoft.

"For us, it has never been a question of being independent or non-independent. Even though we were independent, we always looked for the right kind of partnerships. Having had good success in some of the industry's growth areas, and being able to prove that we can keep on developing great games, it is natural that different publishers have been interested in working with us."

"But there is no need to think about that anymore. We are really excited to be part of Ubisoft, and now more than ever we are fully focused on the most important thing: developing great games."

Hij voegde er aan toe dat Ubisoft een 'hands-off approach' hanteert ten opzichte van de studio en dat de studio gewoon op zijn plek zal blijven. Een grote verhuizing is daardoor uitgesloten.

"Our day-to-day work and tasks should be pretty much the same but we expect to be able to focus even more on just creating and developing great games. Ubisoft has 25 different studios in its family, so that's a lot of people we can reach out to and get additional services and support, and share information, technology and best practices with."

RedLynx's volgende release zal Trials Evolition zijn, welke rond Q1 volgend jaar te spelen zal zijn op Xbox 360.
