Buildings that jut up into the sky actually move in perspective to the camera using a 3D shifting effect. Vehicles will actually lean to the left and right as their weight shifts through a turn. And Liberty city isn't just a bunch of cross-streets -- there are over and underpasses, with the engine turning the car transparent when players drive it underneath a bridge. Liberty City in the Game Boy Advance version is nearly three times the size of the incarnation in the PlayStation 2 GTA3 game.
